Embracing Me Calls
With Overseer Shimika Bowers
1st and 3rd Mondays of each month on zoom!
It is time to choose you! Not in a selfish way. Not by abandoning others.
But by honoring the work God is doing in you. Too often, we choose comfort over calling.
We choose being needed over being whole. We choose keeping peace instead of becoming free.
Embracing Me is a bi-monthly, God-centered call:
Designed to help Men and Women pause, reflect, and choose growth—without guilt.
This space is for those who are ready to:
Release ego and emotional masks
Gain clarity about how they show up in relationships and leadership
Grow in self-awareness without condemnation
Align their inner life with God's purpose
Held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays
at 7:30 PM
Embracing Me, led by Overseer Shimika Bowers, is a place to realign your heart, strengthen your discernment, and choose the version of you God is shaping.
Sometimes choosing you is actually choosing obedience.
Choose growth. Choose truth. Choose the work God is doing in you.

Who is Overseer Shimika Bowers
Shimika Bowers is a devoted mother, author, life coach, and spiritual leader whose life’s work centers on healing, identity, and wholeness. As a single mother of two sons, her journey has been shaped by resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to breaking cycles so future generations can thrive without carrying the weight of unhealed pain. Her life is a living testimony that purpose can rise from pressure and that healing is both possible and powerful when embraced intentionally.
At the heart of Shimika’s work is a deep belief in the importance of soul care. She is the co-author of Soul Care: Nurturing Your InnerMost Being, a book that emphasizes the necessity of tending to the inner life with the same care we give our outward responsibilities. Drawing from personal experience, spiritual insight, and coaching wisdom, the book reminds readers that self-care is not selfish—it is sacred. Shimika teaches that nurturing the soul is essential for living fully, loving well, and walking confidently in one’s God-given purpose.

Shimika is also the author of Beyond Survival: Building Black Love That Thrives, a transformative work born out of her impactful series titled Do You See Me, hosted on her platform, Embracing Me Ministry Life Coach Call. This book speaks directly to both men and women, particularly within the Black community, addressing the unspoken wounds, silenced emotions, and generational patterns that have long been normalized or kept sealed within the culture. With honesty and compassion, Shimika creates space for voices that have often been unheard, encouraging readers to speak up, heal out loud, and move beyond merely surviving into relationships and lives that truly thrive.
Education and spiritual grounding play a vital role in Shimika’s foundation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership from Ecclesia Episcopal College, equipping her with theological insight and leadership principles that guide both her ministry and coaching practice. She is a Certified Professional Life Coach and a Certified Forgiveness Life Coach, uniquely positioned to help individuals navigate personal growth, emotional healing, and reconciliation—both with themselves and others. Her coaching approach is rooted in accountability, grace, and truth, empowering clients to take ownership of their healing journeys while extending compassion to their past selves.
In addition to her work as an author and coach, Shimika serves as an Overseer at Exalted Word Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Martin C. Wilson and Dr. Bishop Tammy Wilson in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, she offers spiritual guidance, leadership, and support, helping to cultivate a community grounded in faith, growth, and alignment with God’s will. Her ministry is marked by authenticity and a deep passion for seeing people walk in freedom—spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
Shimika’s philosophy on healing is both honest and hopeful. She firmly believes that while we cannot control the trauma we experience in childhood, we can control our healing journey as adults. Trauma, she teaches, may shape our young minds, but adulthood gives us the authority to relearn, reframe, and rebuild. We are not obligated to live up to the labels placed on us by others, by culture, or even by our past. Instead, Shimika challenges people to seek God’s truth about who they are and to answer to that truth alone.
Central to her message is the conviction that every person is born on purpose, with a purpose. Shimika reminds her audience that blessings are accessible to all, but they flow most freely when we are in alignment with God’s will. Alignment, she teaches, requires honesty, obedience, and the courage to confront what has been passed down but no longer serves us. She often speaks about the power of generational healing—the idea that we can change our lineage by slaying the Goliaths our ancestors were unable to defeat. Through intentional healing, our children and grandchildren can inherit lives they do not have to recover from.
This belief is lived out through the Embracing Me Ministry Life Coach Call, a sacred space Shimika created to help individuals reclaim control of their lives. On this platform, accountability is not about blame—it is about empowerment. Participants are encouraged to take responsibility for their choices, their healing, and their growth, while being supported by community, faith, and practical tools for transformation. Shimika’s leadership on this call is both firm and nurturing, calling people higher while meeting them exactly where they are.
As a mother, Shimika’s work is deeply personal. Her sons are a constant reminder of why healing matters and why the work must continue. She is committed to modeling emotional health, faith, and courage for them, ensuring that the legacy she leaves is one of wholeness, truth, and love. Her life reflects her message: healing is not a destination but a lifelong journey, and choosing it daily is an act of faith.
Through her books, ministry, coaching, and leadership, Shimika Bowers stands as a voice for those ready to move beyond silence, beyond labels, and beyond survival. Her story is one of redemption, responsibility, and restoration—a testament to what is possible when faith meets action and healing is embraced with intention.
